PERSEPSI ATAS PERAN EMPATI SUAMI OLEH ISTRI YANG BEKERJA TERHADAP KEPUASAN PERNIKAHAN
This study aims to determine how working wives perceive the role of husband’s empathy in feeling marital satisfaction. The hypothesis of this research is that husband’s empathy affects the perception of marital satisfaction felt by working wives. The population of this study is a working wife. The research sample was 160 people and for the trial as many as 40 people. Sampling using purposive random sampling. The measuring instrument uses a marital satisfaction scale with reference to aspects of Robinson and Blanton (2003) and an empathy scale with reference to aspects of Batson and Coke (Watson, 1984). Data analysis using simple regression. The results of the regression analysis showed that empathy (R=0,546; R square=0,298; F=67,101; p=0,000) had a significant role on marital satisfaction in working women. Thus the proposed hypothesis is accepted where the contribution of empathy to marital satisfaction is 29,8%.
