PENGARUH PEMBERIAN HERBAL FERMENTASI TERHADAP BOBOT HIDUP, PERSENTASE KARKAS, DAN pH DIGESTA USUS AYAM KAMPUNG
The growth and productivity of local chicken are influenced by feedstuff, one of which is the addition of supplementary feed i.e. feed supplements. The use of supplementary feed is being closely monitored because the residues can stay in chicken meat. The use of fermented herbs is an alternative where the ingredients are easy to find, such as ginger, turmeric, and temulawak. This study aimed to discover the effect of fermented herbs on live weight, carcass percentage, and pH of the intestinal digesta of local chicken. This study used 100 local chickens aged 1 day from Bogor, West Java. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consisted of: A (Ration), B (Ration + Fermented Herbs 2%), C (Ration + Fermented Herbs 4%), D (Ration + Fermented Herbs 6%), and E (Ration + Fermented Herbs 8%). The observed variables included live weight, carcass percentage, and pH of the intestine digesta of local chickens. The results of this study indicate that the addition of fermented herbs has not been able to affect live weight, carcass percentage, and pH of the intestinal digesta of local chicken.
