The purpose of this study was to determine the of soil maturity in land type A and land B tidal swamp in Mulya Sari Village, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. Tidal swamp land is a sub-optimal land that has considerable potential for rice farming in Indonesia. Tidal land is a sub-optimal land, it is important to know the level of soil maturity on tidal land first, as a reference before doing farming activities in tidal swamp land. Therefore, it is necessary to reference the of soil maturity in tidal swamp land before farming activities are carried out., South Sumatra. This study used a survey method with direct observation of the field, the determination of the sampling point was carried out intentionally and the sampling was carried out using a hoe at a depth of 0-30 cm. Observations were made by observing soil maturity, soil texture, soil organic matter. Based on the results of lab tests, the highest level of soil maturity is in tidal land with samples of A2 with n n-value 0,9, and the n value is located on tidal land with sample B2 with a value of 0.5. While the highest organic matter content is in sample B2 with a value of 25.66%, and the lowest organic matter content is in sample A2 with a value of 9.11%.
