Pneumonia is one of the causes of infant mortality. The prevalence of pneumonia cases in children under five in Indonesia reaches 4.5% with the highest cases experienced by children aged 12-23 months. The prevalence of pneumonia cases in South Sumatera was recorded at 39.64% with a total cases in OKU of 58.7%. One of the risk factors for pneumonia in children under five is caused by the use of mosquito repellent in the house. This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of mosquito repellent at home with the incidence of pneumonia in children under five at Tanjung Agung Public Health Center. This research was conducted with a case control study design using purposive sampling method with 78 respondents. Data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate by using the Chi-Square test and multivariate using multiple logistic regression tests for risk factor models. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between the use of mosquito repellent in the house (p-value 0.038), smokers in the house (0.021) there was non relationship between house humidity (p-value 0,933), house temperature (p-value 0.636), ventilation area (p-value 0.835), with the incidence of pneumonia in children under five, and the results of multivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between the concentration of the use of anti-mosquito drugs in the house and the incidence of pneumonia in children under five (p-value 0.013) after controlling for the smoking variable in the house (OR=4,572, 95% CI=1,375-15,204). It can be concluded that mothers who have toddlers who are exposed to mosquito repellent continuously can increase the risk of developing pneumonia. Suggestions that can be given in this study are that it is hoped that mothers who have toddlers can change the use of mosquito repellent by installing mosquito nets and keeping family members who smoke near toddlers.
