SIMAK is a crucial information system for a university. It has data as an information asset that supports the flow of academic administration within the university. In a system, there are many possibilities for unwanted errors that can disrupt the administration and business processes. Those disruptions and threats can cause harm to Sriwijaya University. In order to reduce the losses, organizations need to build risk management. One thing that is important in managing risks is to do the risk assessment. In this research, a risk assessment of information assets was done by using the OCTAVE Allegro method. With this method, the organization will find it easier to assess, analyze, identify risks, and provide mitigation approach. This research concluded that SIMAK Unsri has 5 valuable information assets with 64 possible threats. There are 10 risks to mitigated/deferred and 54 risks to deferred/accepted.
