In 2018, Tanjung Pinang City ranked second as the city with the highest number of HIV/AIDS sufferers occupied by the Riau Islands Provinsce. Globally HIV/AIDS is the second cause of death in adolescents aged 10-29 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using crossword puzzles with the NHT method on the cognitive and affective anhancement of street children related to HIV/AIDS prevention. This research method uses Quasi Experiment with Pretest-Post-test research design with Control Group. This study was conducted in two groups which were divided into 30 experimental group and 30 control group on street children with the criteria of teenagers aged 10-19 years. Analysis of research data used the dependent t test with wilcoxon alternatif test and the independent t test with the mann whitney alternative test. The results showed that the average value of street children knowledge before being given was 34,43 and after being given TTS media was 43,77. While the use of flipchart media the average value of knowledge before being given is 30,13 and after flipchart is 41,67. And the results of the research show that there are differences in attitudes before the intervention is given. Furthermore, in the study, it was found that there was no sifnificant difference in the two groups, namely the treatment group using TTS media and Flipchart media in the control group (p=0,468). For the reason, TTS and flipchart media are not effective in improving the cognitive and effective aspects related to HIV/AIDS prevention. The suggestion is to develop research tools and media interventions on HIV/AIDS prevention
