M.KM Environmental Health Risk Analysis of Iron Metal Content (Fe) In Public Drinking Water Source in Timbangan Subdistrict Of North Indralaya XXXIV + 53 Pages, 13 tables, 12 Images, 8 ABSTRACT Wetland areas have characteristics such as containing micro nutrients, one of which is iron metal (Fe) and has characteristics such as murky, oily, and smelly. Timbangan Subdistrict Area North Indralaya is an adjacent area and even some points of the area is wetlands, so the samples in this study have the potential to contain iron metal (Fe) which is quite high or above the threshold value. Iron metal (Fe) in drinking water sources can cause health problems such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, liver damage, lung, diabetes, bluish nail tips, and acute exposure can lead to acidosis. This study aims to analyze the amount of health risks that can be caused by drinking water consumption from water sources containing iron metal (Fe) that are above the threshold value. This type of research is quantitative research with the design of environmental health risk analysis (ARKL) study. Respoden samples were taken using non-probability sampling method as many as 96 respondents, and well water samples as many as 13 samples. Water samples were tested using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (SSA) – flame to determine the metal content of iron (Fe) in water. In this study it was found that there are people who have health complaints such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, diabetes. Respondents are mostly women and respondents over the age of 40 years, and most water samples contain Fe above the average of 0.3 mg / L but the calculation results obtained that the value of risk quotients (RQ) is still at the safe limit of RQ < 1 which means there is no need to control or risk management but the existing Fe levels must be maintained so as not to far exceed the existing threshold value and can minimize health disorders in the people who consume the water.
