This research is entitled "Development of Al-Azhaar Islamic Boarding School Lubuklinggau 2012-2019". The formulation in this study is how the process of establishing the Al-Azhaar Islamic Boarding School in Lubuklinggau and how the development of the Al-Azhaar Lubuklinggau Islamic Boarding School in 2012- 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the development of the Al-Azhaar Islamic Boarding School Lubuklinggau in 2012-2019.The method used in this study uses the historical method. The steps taken are heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and writing (historiography) as well as researchers using sociological and anthropological approaches.The results of this study indicate that the establishment of the Al-Azhaar Islamic Boarding School Lubuklinggau was motivated by the condition of the people of Lubuklinggau City who at that time could not read the Qur'an and carry out worship according to Islamic law correctly.The purpose of the establishment of this pesantren is to educate, teach and foster santri to become a generation of Qur'anic, Rabbani and highly intellectual. The development of the Al-Azhaar Islamic Boarding School was quite rapid from 2012 to 2019.During this period, many pesantren carried out the construction of educational infrastructure as a form of response to the increasing number of students. However, in terms of the educational curriculum, it still maintains traditional culture such as the teaching of classical Islamic books combined with the applicable educational curriculum in Indonesia.
