This study aims to determine the use of WhatsApp application-based social media in supporting the learning process during the pandemic class V SDN 2 Karya Maju, and to determine the use of WhatsApp application-based social media for fifth grade students at SDN 2 Karya Maju. This study used descriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted in February 2021. The data collection techniques in this study were interviews with classroom teachers and religious teachers who teach in class v, and distributing closed questionnaires to students in class V at SDN 2 Karya Maju. The results showed that classroom teachers and religious teachers were greatly helped by the use of social media based on the whatsapp application, the whatsapp application played an important role in the learning process, especially in class V SDN 2 Karya Maju. Meanwhile, the results of the closed questionnaire/questionnaire distributed to students showed that students "TS or Disagree" if the learning process is carried out through the WhatsApp application, because students find it difficult to understand the material sent via the WhatsApp application.
