FAKTOR YANG MEMENGARUHI KECEMASAN PADA MASYARAKAT YANG BEKERJA SELAMA MASA PANDEMI CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19) DI KOTA PALEMBANG TAHUN 2021
COVID-19 not only threatened the physical health, but also mental health of working people. They must adapt to changes that occurred so sudden and fast. This could cause them to feel anxious. Anxiety could lower their body immune and in the long term, it could lead to hopelessness and even to suicidal tendency. This study aimed to determine the influential factors of anxiety in people who worked during COVID-19 pandemic in Palembang in 2021. Quantitative research method with cross-sectional study design were used. Primary data were obtained by conducting interviews using questionnaires directly and through online media. The population in this study were all people who worked during the COVID-19 pandemic in Palembang in 2021, with a total sample of 383 individuals selected using purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. Univariate, bivariate (chi-square) and multivariate (multiple logistic regression) analyses were applied in this study. The results indicated that 31.9% workers had anxiety. Age, occupation and marital status were associated with anxiety (p-value < 0.05). Occupation is the dominant factor that predicted anxiety, in which informal workers were 2.4 times more at risk of experiencing anxiety than formal workers after being controlled by marital status, education level and age as confounding variables (PR = 2.409; 95% CI: 1.332 – 4.357). The government needs to concentrate more on mental health of working population during the COVID-19 pandemic by improving access to mental health services in order to be accessible for informal workers as the most vulnerable group
