Excessive workload and negative interactions between individual factors and the work environment can make workers feel depressed in doing their work so that which will affect them mentally or psychologically. Depressed conditions due to not being able to complete the work given can cause work stress. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between workload and individual characteristics with work stress on workers of PK. Jaya Abadi factory Waykanan Lampung. This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional research design. The sample of this research is all workers in the production section of the PK. Jaya Abadi factory amount 40 people with the sampling technique using saturated sampling method or total sampling. Data collection tools in this study using questionnaires and a stopwatch. The data analysis used was univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between workload (p-value = 0.05), age (p-value = 0.0001), marital status (p-value = 0.01) and personality type (p-value = ˂ 0.0001) with work stress. But there is no relationship between gender (p-value = 1,000) with work stress. This research suggestion is expected that the factory can control work stress on workers by building good interpersonal relationships and a comfortable work environment so that workers do not feel pressured by the work to be done, perform work rotations, increase exhaust fan units to reduce heat pressure which has a negative impact on physiological responses that can increase the risk of stress,provide training or counseling to workers regarding work procedures and ergonomic lifting and transport positions and the factory can set standard operating procedures (SOPs) to create a safe, comfortable and healthy work system for workers
