This study aims to determine the attitudes of students PPKn Study Program FKIP Sriwijaya University towards social problems in Palembang City. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. Using non-probability sampling technique type purposive sampling with data collection techniques documentation and questionnaires. Population was 296 people and sample was 84 people according to criteria that active students of Sriwijaya University PPKn Study Program in academic year 2017 to 2020 class Palembang, Indralaya who domiciled in Palembang. The results showed the attitudes students of PPKn Study Program FKIP Sriwijaya University towards social problems in Palembang City were negative. This is evidenced by average score of three indicators that have been studied including the attitude indicator in terms of cognitive 52.82%, the attitude in terms of affective 57.68%, the attitude in terms of conative aspect is 53.14%. Score less than 62.5% is categorized as a negative attitude. In addition, the negative attitude of students is in line with the important elements of an event referred to as a social problem, including situations that are contrary to the values believed by local community, number of people who acknowledge a significant social problem, and community agrees to find a solution.
