South Sumatra Province is one of the fifth largest food barns in Indonesia order to support the smooth production of rice in South Sumatra, a seed breeding center has been held that is superior and certified. The main component of agribusiness in the form of the application of new technologies in the form of certified superior seeds will make increasing the need for production facilities for production efficiency, distribution and marketing of results. The purpose of this study is (1) to explain the social condition of farmers' households descriptively and analyze the disparsity of the economic condition of farmers' households through household income and their contribution to the households of certified superior seed breeder farmers with non-certified local seed breeders and (2) Analyzing the welfare level comparison of certified superior seed breeder rice farmers with non-captive local seedholders is non certificate. The research was conducted from February 2021 to March 2021. the method used is the survey method. The data collection method is done disproportionate stratified random sampling. the data collected is divided into primary and secondary data. The method of data processing conducted is Independent Sample T-test and Welfare Level Scoring using BPS Indicator 2014. The results show descriptively there are differences in the households of captive rice farmers with non-breeder rice farmers but when the test of income difference using the Independent Sample T-Test obtained the results of sig value (2-tailed) 0.044 so it can be concluded that there is significant difference in household income between captive rice farmers and non-captive rice farmers. The welfare level of captive farmers falls into the category of Prosperous II with an average score of 5.38 and non-captive farmers fall into the category of Prosperous I with an average score of 4.62.
