ANALISIS PEMASARAN LADA DI DESA MUARA RUNGGA KECAMATAN PASEMAH AIR KERUH KABUPATEN EMPAT LAWANG
he study aims to (1) analyze pepper marketing patterns, (2) calculate the margins and profits in pepper marketing, (3) describe the role of goverment and related institutions in fixing pepper marketing in Muara Rungga Village Pasemah Air Keruh Sub-District Empat Lawang Regency. The research method was survey method. Sampling method used was incidental sampling with 34 respondent samples, whereas the sampling method used for marketing institutions and government was snowball sampling which consist of 4 institutions and 2 government repondents. The marketing margin was analyzed using the difference between the price paid by consumers and the price received by farmers. The profit for every marketing institution obtained by the difference between marketing margins with marketing cost in each marketing institutions. Marketing efficiency obtained by calculating the ratio between total marketing cost and product value in every marketing channel. The research shows that there is only one marketing channel for pepper. The marketing total profit from the channel was IDR 5.621,36 per Kg, and total marketing margin was IDR 11.723,53 per Kg, and pepper marketing efficiency value was 15.59%. This value was with in 0 – 33% which means the marketing pepper could be categorized as efficient. In conducting pepper marketing activities, the role of marketing institutions and government involved is very important in fixing all marketing activities. Based on information obtained the marketing institutions were effective enough in conducting pepper farming business from conducting marketing functions, nevertheless the local government role was not optimum in taking actions to fix the pepper marketing.
