The Indonesian government has the responsibility to provide protection for every citizen who is in Indonesia and abroad from all actions that can harm him, in this case Indonesian citizens abroad. Countries in the world have their own sovereignty that cannot be violated and must be obeyed by their citizens, as well as other citizens who reside in these countries must obey this sovereignty. With regard to providing protection for its citizens, the government has a basic policy regarding the protection of its citizens who are abroad. The alleged murder crime against Siti Aisyah in Malaysia is one of the cases that is the subject of this discussion. This study aims to measure what efforts the Indonesian Government can take in providing legal protection to Indonesian citizens who commit criminal acts abroad and the forms of legal protection provided by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia against Siti Aisyah as an Indonesian citizen. This research is a qualitative descriptive normative study using an invited approach, literature study, and cases obtained from primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials.
