PADAT TEBAR SPIRULINA (Arthrospira platensis) BERBEDA YANG DIKULTUR DALAM MEDIA AIR LIMBAH BUDIDAYA IKAN LELE
Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) is a Cyanobacterium that can be cultured in catfish rearing wastewater. Spirulina stocking density can affect growth rate, density, and reduction of total nitrogen and phosphate content in catfish rearing wastewater culture media. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal initial density of Spirulina for the growth of Spirulina cultured in the wastewater media. This research was conducted at the Aquaculture Laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University in September-October 2020. This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were the initial density of Spirulina (P1) 0.1 g L-1, (P2) 0.2 g L-1, (P3) 0.4 g L-1, and (P4) 0.8 g L-1. The parameters observed were the growth rate of the biomass, density, and reduction of total nitrogen and phosphate content of the culture media. The results showed that differences of the stocking density of Spirulina had an effect on growth rate, density, and reduction in total nitrogen and phosphate content. The best treatment in this study was P1 treatment with an initial density of 0.1 g L-1 Spirulina capable of producing a growth rate of 21.637% day-1, a maximum density of 0.567 g L-1, and reducing total nitrogen content 96.27% and phosphate content of 92.09% from their initial concentration of the wastewater culture media. Keywords : Catfish culture wastewater, initial density of Spirulina, Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis)
