South Sumatra is the province that produces the largest palm oil in Indonesia. The district that is involved in supplying FFB (Fresh Fruit Bunches) in South Sumatra is Lahat Regency. Kikim Timur District has an area of smallholder oil palm plantations that produce FFB and is the largest in Lahat Regency with an area of 1.1 million ha. Marga Mulia Village is a village in the East Kikim District, where the majority of the population works as oil palm farmers and agricultural laborers. The objectives of this study were 1) To determine the role of Farmer Groups in Marga Mulia Village, Kikim Timur District, 2) To determine the level of income and welfare of oil palm farmers in Marga Mulia Village, Kikim Timur District and 3) Analyze the relationship between the role of farmer groups and the level of welfare of oil palm farmers in Marga Mulia village, Kikim timur, Lahat district. This research was conducted in Marga Mulia Village, Kikim Timur District. The location of this research was chosen purposively. Data collection was carried out in December 2020. The research method used in this study was the survey method. The sampling method in this research was simple random sampling. The results showed that the role of the oil palm farmer groups in Marga Mulia Village was moderate. The average income of oil palm farmers in Marga Mulia Village per hectare is IDR17.436.230,-ha/year. Based on the research results, the income of oil palm farmers in Marga Mulia village was higher than the poverty rate in South Sumatra and has an increasing in the welfare of oil palm farmers in Marga Mulia Village by 87 percent. Based on statistical tests using the SPSS tool, there was a significant relationship between the variabel role of farmer groups and the level of welfare with a correlation coefficient value of 0.363.
