IDENTIFIKASI VEGETASI TEPI TANAMAN CABAI (CAPSICUM ANNUM L.) YANG DIDUGA MENJADI INANG SERANGGA VEKTOR VIRUS
Consumer demand for Chili (Capsicum annum L.) is increasing every year. One of the factors that affect the productivity of chili is pests and plant diseases. The main problem in the cultivation of chili is the presence of virus diseases that can make farmers worried. The virus vector can live on plants that live around chili plantations. These virus vectors include: thrips, aphids (Aphids), whitefly (Bemicia tabaci), and mites (Tetranycus sp.) This study aims to determine the types of vegetation on the edge of chili plantations and potentially to become host of virus vector insect. This research was carried out from January to February 2021 used exploration methods. Observations were made in 5 different locations of chili (Capsicum annum L.) plantations with a minimum land area of 10 x 10 m in Tanjung Pering Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. Also, there is wild vegetation on the edge of the chili plantations which is identified based on morphological characteristics. Virus vector insect identification was carried out at the Entomology Laboratory and Phytopathology Laboratory, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The results showed from the 5 different locations that there were 16 species of wild plant, there are A. conyzoides, B. latifolia, C. odorata, C. benghalensis, C. hirtus, C. citratus, E. hirta, I. cylindrical, M. candidum, M. diplotricha, M. pudicia, M. oleifera, P. angulata, S. obtusifolia, T. orientalis, dan W. indica. 10 out of 16 are virus vector hosts, there are A. conyzoides, B. latifolia, C. odorata from the Asteraceae family, C. hirtus from the Euphorbiaceae family, I. cylindrical from the Poaceae family, M. candidum from the Melastomaceae family, M. oleifera from the Moringaceae family, P. angulata from the Solanaceae family, T. orientalis from the Cannabaceae family, and W. indica from the Malvaceae family. Keywords: Chili plants, Edge plants, Viruses, Vector
