PERSENTASE BOBOT USUS HALUS DAN SEKA AYAM LAYER JANTAN DENGAN PENAMBAHAN PROBIOTIK DARI SILASE RUMPUT KUMPAI TEMBAGA (Hymenachne acutigluma)
The research determine the effect of giving probiotics from kumpai tembaga silage to the percentage of weight small intestine and caeca male layer chicken. This research lasted from two months in the poultry experimental station of the Animal Husbandry Technology and Industry, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used experimental method by using 100 male layer chicken which has been maintained since Day Old Chicken (DOC). The study used 5 treatments and 4 replications consisting of 0%, 0,2%, 0,4%, 0,6%, and 0,8% of probiotic in the offered feed. The observed variables were small intestine weight, duodenum weight, jejenum weight, ileum weight, and caeca weight. Data was analyzed with ANOVA and and continued with Duncan test. The result in this study indicate that probiotic addition was able to increase the weight of the small intestine, duodenum, jejenum, ileum, and caeca. The conclusion of this study is the provision of probiotics from the silage of kumpai tembaga grass at a dose of 0,4% can increase the percentage of ileum weight and with dose of 0,6% able to increase the weight percentage of small intestine, duodenum, jejenum, and caeca male layer chicken.
