EVALUASI PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL PERSILANGAN TANAMAN PADI (Oryza sativa L.) VARIETAS INPAGO 12 DENGAN VARIETAS INPARA 8
Fluctuations in waterlogging are difficult to predict, flooding caused by high rainfall in the rainy season which results in inundation of rice plants and drought in the dry season are the main problems in lowland swamp land. This research was aimed to evaluate growth and yield of Inpara 8 and Inpago 12 rice varieties as parent plants and to obtain F1 rice accessions from crossing of parent plants that each have tolerant traits to submerged stress and drought stress, so that it was expected to produce F1 progeny with dual tolerant traits. The research was conducted at the Greenhouse Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir from August to December 2020. Randomized Block Design with 3 replicates was used to evaluate the growth and yield of both parent varieties, while reciprocal crossing method was used to obtain the F1 accessions from the parent plants. Data obtained then were analyzed using analysis of variance and Least Significance Different to evaluate the difference among parent varieties. Based on the results, it can be concluded that Inpara 8 variety showed better agronomy characteristics based on the parameters of plant height, number of tillers, number of panicles clump, number of grain clump, weight of grain panicle, weight of dry grain harvested clump, weight of milled dry grain clump, weight of 1000 grains, and dry weight of the stove. While for the crossing, Inpago 12 variety as the female parent produced as many 553 crossed seeds with 34,07% crossing percentage and Inpara 8 variety as the female parent produced as many 392 crossed seeds with 30,79% crossing percentage. Keywords: Crossing, Inpara 8, Inpago 12
