PENEKANAN PENYAKIT BUSUK PANGKAL BATANG KELAPA SAWIT YANG DISEBABKAN GANODERMA BONINENSE MENGGUNAKAN TANAMAN TALAS BELITUNG (XANTHOSOMA SAGITTIFOLIUM) PADA TANAH STERIL, TANAH TIDAK STERIL, DAN PADA MEDIUM AGAR
Ganoderma boninense is an important disease as of now difficult to control. Cocoyam plants are thought to be able to inhibit the growth of Ganoderma boninense. This study used a completely randomized design with experiments on autoclaved and non-autoclaved soils, and experiments on axenic culture. Experiments were carried out in green house and phytopathology laboratory in August to February 2020. After three months of inoculation only one plant showed symptoms. Growing cocoyam for three months does not affect the disease, as measured by root necrosis, but cocoyam suppressed wood decay in non-sterile soil condition. Furthermore, cocoyam planting inhibited oil palm growth as indicated by lower plant dry weight and height, but did not affected leaf area. Cocoyam planting on autoclaved soil did not affected root necrosis and wood decay, but reduced oil palm dry weight. Plant height, leaf area and root length did not affected by cocoyam on autoclaved soil. Trial on agar medium did not show any allelopathic activity of cocoyam against Ganoderma mycelium.
