PERSEPSI PETANI TERHADAP KINERJA PENYULUH DAN HUBUNGANNYA DENGAN PENDAPATAN USAHATANI JAGUNG HIBRIDA DI DESA BANGUN SARI KECAMATAN TANJUNG LAGO KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
Agricultural extension agents are agents of change who bring technological innovations to change the old farming system which is less profitable for the community, especially farmers. To see the performance of agricultural extension at the field level, it is necessary to conduct research on agricultural extension workers and an assessment of farmers' perceptions of the level of performance of extension workers is necessary. This research aims to; (1) analayzing farmers 'perceptions of extension performance in Bangun Sari Village, (2) analayzing the characteristics of farmers related to the perception of hybrid maize farmers on the performance of agricultural extension in Bangun Sari Village, (3) analayzing the relation between farmer perceptions and hybrid corn farming income in Bangun Sari Village . This research was conducted in Bangun Sari Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency. This location was selected purposively. Data collection at the research location was carried out from September to November 2020. The research method by simple random sampling. The results of this study indicate that; (1) Farmers' perceptions of the agricultural instructor's performance in Bangun Sari Village are based on six questions regarding the instructor's performance, namely appearance, method of communication, methods, materials, activity and visiting time schedule, including in the medium category, (2) There is a significant relationship between age, area ownership and level of formal education on farmers' perceptions of the performance of agricultural extension. However, there is no relationship between the number of family members and farmers' perceptions of the performance of agricultural extension, (3) The average income of farmers in corn farming activities is IDR15.153.071,00/lg/year. There is a significant relationship between perceptions of farmers on the income of hybrid corn farming.
