EFISIENSI PEMUPUKAN NITROGEN DAN RESPON TANAMAN JAGUNG TERHADAP PENAMBAHAN PUPUK KANDANG DAN PUPUK NITROGEN
The The efficiency of using nitrogen fertilizer could be increased by adding manure. The research aimed to determine the growth and yield as well as efficiency of nitrogen fertilization due to the addition of manure and nitrogen fertilizer on corn plants. The research had been conducted at the Experimental Field Station of Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from October 2019 to March 2020. Analyses of the chemical properties of soil, plants, and manure were conducted at the Laboratory of Soil Chemistry, Biology and Fertility, Department of Soil, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The experiment used randomized block design with 9 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used in this research consisted of P0 = Control; P1 = 100% recommended rate of N; P2 = 10 tons ha-1 of cow manure; P3 = 100% recommended rate of N + 5 tons ha-1 of cow manure; P4 = 100% recommended rate of N + 10 tons ha-1 of cow manure; P5 = 75% recommended rate of N + 5 tons ha-1 cow manure; P6 = 75% recommended rate of N + 10 tons ha-1 of cow manure; P7 = 50% recommended rate of N + 5 tons ha-1 of cow manure; P8 = 50% recommended rate of N + 10 tons ha-1 of cow manure. The results showed that the cow manure and nitrogen fertilizer did not significantly influenced on soil pH (at planting and primordia), the plant height at 14, 28 and 42 days after planting, amount of leaves at 14 and 28 days after planting, chlorophyll, weight of cob with corn husk plot-1 and weight of cob without corn husk plot-1. The application of cow manure and nitrogen fertilizer has a significant effect on the amount of leaves of 42 days after planting, has a very significant effect on soil organic C, N-tissue, N uptake and can increase the N uptake and agronomic use of nitrogen fertilizer by the cereals is not efficient. Lack of efficient use of nitrogen fertilizer causes not only economic losses but also causes environmental pollution. efficiency of corn. P6 was assigned as the best treatment which was able to increase N uptake and agronomic efficiency, reduce the use of urea fertilizer by 25% give the highest levels of tissue N and uptake of N, as well as the weight of cob with and without corn husk plot-1.
