PENGARUH VOLUME PENYIRAMAN DAN DOSIS ABU BOILER MELALUI RORAK TERHADAP TANAMAN KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) DI LAHAN KERING
The aims of this study were to determine the effect of watering volume and boiler ash dosages on the number of frond fracture, and the growth and yield of oil palm (Elaeis guineesnsis Jacq.) during the dry season in dry land. This research has been carried out in the oil palm experimental garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, in July 2018 to January 2019. Watering the oil palm was carried out in the dry season (August-October), through silt pit with a size (50 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm) or the amount of water equal to 125 L silt pit-1. The experimental design used this research was Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factors arranged factorially The first factor was the volume of watering and the second factor was the boiler ash dosages. There were four levels of watering volume and three levels of boiler ash dosages, so that there were 12 treatment combinations. Each treatment was repeated three times. The volume of watering (V) consisted of 4 levels, namely: V0 = without watering; V1 = 1 silt pit (125 L tree-1); V2 = 2 silt pit (250 L tree-1); V3 = 3 silt pit (375 L tree-1). Boiler ash dose (B) consisted of 3 levels, namely: B0 = without boiler ash; B1 = 5 kg tree-1; B2 = 10 kg tree-1. The results showed that watering affected the increase in soil water content, leaf water content, leaf greenness, the number of female bunches and the number of oil palm fruit bunches. Boiler ash dosages significantly affected leaf moisture content. A 10 kg boiler ash dosages tree-1 can improve soil water content, leaf water content, leaf greenness, the number of female bunches and the number of fruit bunches. Watering with a volume of 375 L-1 3 silt pit and 10 kg of boiler ash can reduce the number of frond fracture lower than the control.
