PENGARUH KOMPOSISI SERAT PENDEK KAYU AKASIA MANGIUM (Acacia Mangium) TERHADAP KUALITAS TISSUE
This research aims to obtain the best fiber composition in the process of making tissue and see the effect of acacia short fiber composition on tissue quality. This research was conducted at PT. OKI Pulp and Paper Mill, Bukit Batu Village, Air Sugihan District, Ogan Komering Ilir District, South Sumatra in September to March using the non-factorial completely randomized design (RAL) method. The treatment used was the composition of tissue-making materials with six of treatment, each treatment was repeated five times. The parameters in this research are Thickness, Tensile Strength and Elongation. The results of this research indicate that the diversity of the composition of acacia fibers in each tissue making process significantly affects the tensile strength and elongation. However, the results of the diversity of the composition of acacia fiber does not affect to tissue thickness. In testing the elongation parameters show that the value of the test ranged from 20.22% to 26.38%. For the highest value obtained from treatment A5 (26.38%) while the smallest value obtained from treatment A1 (20.22%). In tensile strength testing shows the average value ranging from 417.40 grf to 652.40 grf. The lowest tensile strength value was obtained from the A2 treatment (417.40 grf) while the highest value was obtained from the A5 treatment (652.40 grf). The highest value of thickness test pad was obtained in treatment A2 (111.40 μm), while the lowest thickness value was obtained from treatment A4 (96.46 μm).
