Background: Musculoskeletal disorders are a disorder of the musculoskeletal system that results in damage to bones, muscles, peripheral nerves, tendons, joints, ligaments, and blood vessels, which are found in the neck, back, arms and legs. Complaints are felt by a person in the skeletal muscles from mild to very heavy when the muscles are subjected to constant loads, repeatedly over a long period of time. One job that is prone to experiencing musculoskeletal disorders at work is street sweeper. This work is carried out repetitively every day to clean roads, including parks and sidewalks. This study was conducted to analyze the prevalence and factors associated with musculoskeletal disorders on street sweepers in Palembang City. Methods: This type of research is analytic observational with design cross-sectional and consecutive sampling technique. The subjects of this study were 67 street sweepers. The variable musculoskeletal disorders among workers was assessed by means of interviews based on the Nordic Body Map questionnaire while other factors were measured using a self-data questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed using Chi-square and analyzed using the SPSS application. Results: The results showed that there were 67 street sweepers with a total score of the Nordic Body Map, which resulted in 22.4%, 56.7%, 20.9% experiencing mild, moderate and high complaints. With the location where most street sweepers felt were the upper arms 47.8%, the waist 44.8%, the shoulders 35.8% and the wrists 28.8%. The results also showed a significant correlation between musculoskeletal complaints with age (p=0.002), gender (p=0.046) smoking habits (p=0.008) years of service. (p=0.012), and work duration (p=0.007). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between musculoskeletal disorders with age, sex, smoking habits, working period and duration of work.
