ABSTRACT ANXIETY LEVEL OVERVIEW OF THE STAFF AT MUSI MEDIKA CENDIKIA HOSPITAL IN PALEMBANG WHEN FACING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC (Yake Apriliany, Desember 2020, Page 100) Faculty Of Medicine, Sriwijaya University Introduction: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 or SARS-CoV-2 which is a novel coronavirus (CoV). COVID-19 is a new disease and no cure has been found. The COVID-19 pandemic is causing emotional distress like anxiety to everyone. Several groups are more prone to experiencing emotional distress due to the pandemic, one of which is those who live and provide care in hospitals such as health workers. Health workers who experience anxiety disorders will experience uncomfortable feelings and worry excessively for a long time so that the patient refuses to provide health services. Therefore, interventions to prevent anxiety are important. This study aims to describe the level of anxiety of MMC Hospital Palembang employees when facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. Data collection used a zung self rating-anxiety scale (SAS) questionnaire which was distributed directly to all employees at MMC Hospital Palembang. Results: There is no anxiety experienced by all respondents based on gender, age, type of workforce, work unit, working hour system and length of work, totaling 157 people. This is happened due to several factors such as differences in the phases of the pandemic when the research was carried out which resulted in MMC Palembang hospital staff adapting psychologically due to the availability of personal protective equipment, knowledge and experience in handling COVID-19. Conclusion: Anxiety was not found in the staff of the MMC Hospital Palembang. Keywords: Anxiety Level, Hospital Staff, COVID-19
