KARAKTERISTIK PENDERITA GLAUKOMA PRIMER SUDUT TERBUKA DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE 2016-2020
Background: Glaucoma is an eye disorder characterized by damage to the anatomical structure in the form of optic nerve papillary atrophy, optic disc cupping, and progressive visual field reduction. Primary open angle glaucoma is one of the classifications of glaucoma, and has various risk factors. The purpose of this study aims to determine the characteristics of patients with primary open angle glaucoma. Methods: This type of research is descriptive observational study by looking at medical records or secondary data on primary open-angle glaucoma patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital. Results: There were 85 patients with primary open angle glaucoma. Based on general characteristics, the largest group was 50-59 years old (35.3%) and female (61.2%). Based on clinical characteristics, the largest group was with refractive status of ametropia (62.4%), had a history of hypertension (58.8%), had no history of diabetes mellitus (76.5%), had normal intraocular pressure (75.3%), had a mild degree of glaucoma based on cup disc ratio (69.4%), and had a mild degree of glaucoma based on visual field defect (51.8%). Conclusion: Based on general characteristics, the largest group was 50-59 years old and female. Based on clinical characteristics, the largest group was with refractive status of ametropia, had a history of hypertension, had no history of diabetes mellitus, had normal intraocular pressure, had a mild degree of glaucoma based on cup disc ratio, and had a mild degree of glaucoma based on visual field defect.
