Background: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that can occur due to various factors. Psoriasis vulgaris is one of the most common forms of psoriasis in both men and women and can affect any age. Skin lessions can appear in any part of the body and may impact on the patient’s quality of life. Objective: To determine the distribution of the quality of life of psoriasis vulgaris patients in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang Method: This is a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional study design. The sample was taken from the medical record of psoriasis vulgaris patient in Dermatology and Venereology Outpatient Clinic of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang in 2017 – 2019 which fulfill the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Sampling was done using a total sampling technique. Results: From 51 samples, it was found that psoriasis vulgaris was more common in males (54.9%) and was mostly found in the 21 - 40 years old age group (41.2%). Most patients work as housewives (21.6%). Predilections were mostly in lower extremities (86.3%). Based on severity, most were found in moderate severity (49.0%). The quality of life was assessed by the Dermatology Life Quality Index and found that psoriasis vulgaris had small effect on the quality of life of the sufferer (41.2%), had no effect (15.7%), had moderate effect (25.5%), had very large effect (15.7%). %), and extremely large effect (2.0%). Conclusion: Psoriasis vulgaris had small effect on patient’s life. Keywords: psoriasis vulgaris, quality of life, DLQI, degree of severity
