HUBUNGAN DURASI PENGGUNAAN INTERNET DENGAN KUALITAS TIDUR PADA MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN DOKTER UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA ANGKATAN 2018
Background: The Internet provides a wide variety of facilities and is very easily accessible to people of all ages, making it a very functional tool. Excessive internet use can cause an increase in the duration of internet use which will interfere with the quality of sleep in its use. Poor quality sleep causes fatigue and can have several effects in humans. This can result in a decrease in work productivity and can lead to accidents. This study aims to determine the relationship between the duration of internet use and the quality of sleep in students of the Sriwijaya University medical education program class of 2018. Methods: The study was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional study design. Data obtained from filling out the IAT and PSQI questionnaires. This study was conducted on 160 samples that met the inclusion criteria Results: Of the 160 research subjects, 111 respondents (69.4%) had poor sleep quality with a duration of internet use> 6 hours per day and 12 respondents (7.5%) had poor sleep quality with 3- 6 hours per day. Chi-Square results show that the value of p = 0.002, because the value of p = 0.002 6 hours per day has a 4,440 times risk of experiencing poor sleep quality compared to the duration of internet use 3-6 hours per day. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the duration of internet use and the quality of sleep. Keywords: Duration of Internet Use, Sleep Quality, Internet Addiction, Medical Students.
