RASIONALITAS PENGGUNAAN CANDESARTAN PADA PASIEN HIPERTENSI DI RSUP DR. MOH. HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE 1 JULI 2019-31 JULI 2020
Background: Hypertension be the cause of death premature in the world which is expected to increase every year. Hypertension is a serious medical condition that can increase the risk of occurrence of various diseases such as heart disease, stroke, kidney, and other diseases. WHO estimates there are more than 50% of drugs prescribed is not appropriate, and mos patients do not use the correctly. It has been known the use of the class of ARB has increased in some countries such as China, Japan, and South Korea from year to year. In the JNC 8 guidelines, ARB is included as one of the first-line drugs. One of the drug of this class is Candesartan, which has a long-acting duration of work. The aim of this study was to determine the rasionality of the use of drug Candesartan in hypertensive patients in RSUP Dr. Moh. Hoesin Palembang period 1 July 2019-31 July 2020. Method: Drug utilization study has been done in RSUP Dr. Moh. Hoesin Palembang period 1 July 2019-31 July 2020. There are 34 medical records that fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis using SPSS v25. Results: The characteristics of the majority of respondents in this study in the age group 56-65 years (38.2%), female gender (61.8%), blood pressure before therapy hypertention 1st grade (55.9%), blood pressure after therapy normal and high normal (32.4%), type of combination therapy (61.8%), and the number of drugs per prescription are two (47.1%). The rational use of Candesartan based on the criteria of appropriate dosage (100%), appropriate frequenct of administration (100%), appropriate duration of administration (85.3%), appropriate way of administration (100%), and appropriate drug interactions (61.8%). Conclusion: The rational use of Candesartan based on the criteria of appropriate dosage (100%), appropriate frequenct of administration (100%), appropriate duration of administration (85.3%), appropriate way of administration (100%), and appropriate drug interactions (61.8%).
