HUBUNGAN KEBIASAAN KONSUMSI IKAN ASIN DENGAN KEJADIAN KARSINOMA NASOFARING DI DEPARTEMEN THT-KL RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is the most common head and neck carcinoma which was the most common squamous cell carcinoma type. The etiology of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is multifactorial. Some researches has proved that salted fish contains a carcinogenic substance, such as nitrosamine, which can activate latent EBV at nasopharyngeal epithelium. This research aims to know the association between salted fish consumption and nasopharyngeal carcinoma at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Method: This research is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design. The sample was taken by total sampling method from head and neck cancer patient's medical record at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from January to December 2019.
