IDENTIFIKASI TELUR CACING SOIL TRANSMITTED HELMINTHS (STH) PADA SAYURAN KUBIS (Brassica oleracea) YANG DIJUAL OLEH PEDAGANG DI PASAR TRADISIONAL KM 5 PALEMBANG
Background. Soil Transmitted Helmints (STH) infection is a disease that is still a public health problem in Indonesia. The occurrence of this disease is caused by several factors, namely poor sanitation of the population to the processing of vegetables in the form of bad vegetable washing process. One of the vegetables that is often consumed by people in Indonesia raw and also used as a lalapan is cabbage vegetables. Cabbage vegetables have a notched surface of the leaves so that it can allow eggs of STH worms to settle in them. Many people still make mistakes in managing cabbage vegetables. This study was conducted to identify STH worm eggs in cabbage vegetables sold in KM 5 Palembang Traditional Market. Methods. This study used an descriptive observational study with a cross sectional design. The location of acquired the sample were KM 5 Palembang Traditional Market, while the location of processed the sample data was Medical Chemistry Laboratory and Biooptic Laboratory of Medical Faculty in Sriwijaya University. The sample used was selected cabbage vegetables were sampled and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This research used simple random sampling method. Results. A total of 16 cabbage vegetables in this study were not contaminated with STH eggs. Conclusion. There is no contamination of STH worm eggs in cabbage at KM 5 Palembang Traditional Market
