Sleep quality is defined as a person's satisfaction about sleep experience. Poor sleep quality has a strong relationship between physical and psychological well-being. Medical students are a part of the general population who are prone to have poor sleep and there are factors that influence it. This study was aimed to determine the quality of sleep of students in the Universitas Sriwijaya’s Medicine Study Program and the factors that influence sleep. This study was a descriptive observational study with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were students of the Universitas Sriwijaya’s University Medicine Study Program year 2017–2020. Data were collected by filling out the PSQI, GPAQ, SRQ29 and some frequency of habits questionnaires in daily life via Google Form. Total subjects were 766 students from 924 students (82.9%). The results of poor sleep quality were found in 472 students (61.6%) of Universitas Sriwijaya’s medical students year 2017–2020, 276 students (36.0%) who had less physical activity, 246 students (32.1%) had psychological stress, 4 students (0.5%) had problems with psychoactive substances, 150 students (19.6%) had psychotic problems, 266 students (34.7%) had post-traumatic stress disorders, 182 students (23.8%) rarely drink tea, 157 students (20.5%) never drink coffee, 459 students (59.9%) never smoke, 252 students (32.9%) are not used to taking naps had poor sleep quality. The quality of sleep’s prevalence of Universitas Sriwijaya’s medical students year 2017–2020 tends to be poor, and the students lack of physical activity, rarely drinks tea, never drinks coffee, does not smoke, is not accustomed to napping, most of them experience psychological stress and post-traumatic stress disorder during the last month.
