RESPON PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN KUBIS BUNGA (Brassica oleracea var. Botrytis L.) TERHADAP PENUNDAAN WAKTU PINDAH TANAM DAN CEKAMAN KEKERINGAN
This research aimed to find out the growth responds and yield of cauliflower (Brassica oleracea Var. Botrytis L.) to the delay of transplanting time and drought stress. The research was conducted from May 2020 to September 2020 in Jakabaring (104°46'44" E; 3°01'35" S), Palembang. The study used a Factorial Randomized Block Design and the observed variables were analyzed using ANOVA and t-tests. The results showed that the delay of transplanting in 32 and 39 days after sowing inhibited the plant growth, i.e number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, leaf canopy area, SPAD value, flowering time, harvesting time, leaf weight, curd weight, curd diameter, curd volume, stem diameter, fresh weight stem, dry weight stem, root length, fresh weight root, and dry weight root. Drought stress as long as 5 days during curd development resulted a devastating impact on the change of soil moisture by 8% and leaf water content of 58,5%. The drought stress significantly increase the root length but did not significantly affect the soil temperature, soil moisture, leaf water content and yield of cauliflower. The results suggested that transplanting time of cauliflower should be conducted at 25 days after sowing further one. Cauliflower can be developed on land with limited water availability.
