THE PERCEPTION OF THE SIXTH SEMESTER STUDENTS OF ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM OF SRIWIJAYA UNIVERSITY TOWARDS ICT THROUGH BLENDED LEARNING
This study aims to determine student perceptions of the use of ICT as a learning medium in a blended learning approach. Furthermore, it investigates students’ opinion and satisfactions levels of Undergraduate students. The participants of this qualitative study involved 74 students from two classes of the English department in Universitas Sriwijaya year 2018/2019 who studied using the Literacy in ICT through blended learning approaches in class in their third semester. The questionnaire and interview were used as the data collection tools. First, they filled out the questionnaire regarding their views on using ICT through blended learning in the classroom. Then semi-structured interviews were conducted to ask further about their perception that cannot be collected by the questionnaire before. The results showed that ICT help students to improve their English language skill and show significant improvement in their creativity; Moreover, it is also found that the blended learning approaches is better than the traditional face to face only in learning.
