Roads are land transportation facilities that play an essential role in the economic development of a region. As a developing country, Indonesia desperately needs the quality and quantity of roads to meet the needs of the community to carry out various types of economic activities for the movement of goods and services. One of the national roads in South Sumatra is the National Road section 034 Mangun Jaya - border of Musi Rawas Regency, which connects Sekayu City and Lubuk Linggau City. The Center for National Road Implementation V Palembang carried out the Long Segment Preservation Engineering Planning. To do this planning, it is necessary to carry out a topographical survey to obtain the coordinates and elevation data on these roads. The topographical survey was carried out using a Geodetic GPS device using the Real-Time Kinematic method. The Real-Time Kinematic method has the advantage of being able to provide timely information with high accuracy and speed. The data obtained from the topographic survey is used for the geometric design of roads using Autocad Civil 3D. Autocad Civil 3D is a computer-based software that has uses, among others, for designing geometric roads which have output in the form of contour maps, road alignments, horizontal alignments, and vertical alignments. The National Road section 034 Mangun Jaya - Border of Musi Rawas Regency has a length of 42.5 km. Planning is carried out using the Bina Marga method according to the calculation standards used in Indonesia. Based on the planning, the horizontal alignment plan results consist of 73 Full Circle (FC) curves and 78 spiral-circle-spiral (SCS) curves. For vertical alignment, 225 vertical curves are obtained, and 210 vertical curves are concave. The geometric design of roads using Autocad Civil 3D is considered to be very effective in assisting the process of calculating and designing the design results.
