PENINGKATAN KINERJA PANEL FOTOVOLTAIK 100 WP MENGGUNAKAN SISTEM PENDINGIN PELAT ALUMINIUM BERLUBANG
A research has been conducted to improve the performance of Polycrystalline type photovoltaic panels. This research was conducted at the Energy Technology Research Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Sriwijaya University, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The disadvantage of photovoltaic panels, when receiving solar radiation will increase the temperature of the photovoltaic panels but decrease their efficiency. To overcome this problem, this study uses a perforated aluminum plate as a cooling system for photovoltaic panels with variations in hole diameters of 2.5 mm, 5 mm, and 7.5 mm. The plates are placed behind the photovoltaic panels. The dimensions of the plates are 96 cm x 60 cm x 2 cm and the number of holes is 1,363. The specifications for PV panels are 102 cm x 67 cm x 3 cm, Polycrystalline type photovoltaic panels, maximum power of 100 WP, 4 units are used. The results showed that the photovoltaic panels that were cooling with perforated aluminum plates had a higher efficiency than panels that were not given perforated plate cooling. This can be seen from the lowest efficiency value of 4.071389% which is obtained from solar panels without a perforated cooling plate and the highest is 31.12837% which is processed from solar panels using a 7.5 mm perforated cooling plate.
