PEMBENTUKAN MEMBRAN TITANIUM DIOXIDE (TiO2) DENGAN PENCAMPURAN POLYVINYLIDENE FLUORIDE (PVDF) : KARAKTERISTIK, SIFAT MEKANIS DAN KINERJA PENGOLAHAN AIR
In this research, a mixed membrane of Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) with the additive of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) and the 15000 V DC electric field method was prepared with 3 different concentrations, namely 17.5wt%, 20wt% and 22.5wt%. The formation of the PVDF@TiO2 membrane analyzed the effect of the addition of TiO2 and the effect of Electric Field on the characteristics, mechanical properties of the membrane and water treatment performance. PVDF @ TiO2 membranes were characterized using SEM, even pore size until the membrane surface agglomeration phenomenon decreased with the addition of TiO2 and a DC electric field. Tensile test on the PVDF@TiO2 membrane showed the optimal tensile strength value at a concentration of 22.5wt%, namely 1.123 MPa compared to other concentrations, namely 0.769 MPa and 0.37 MPa for 20wt% and 17.5wt%. PVDF@TiO2 membrane. As for the permeability of the membrane itself, a good flux value at a concentration of 22.5wt% PVDF@TiO2 reached a value of 29.8507 L / m2.h and was classified into ultrafiltration membranes. The formation of the PVDF@TiO2 membrane is an innovation in the manufacture of membranes to produce membranes with even pores, reducing agglomeration and thus increasing membrane strength.
