UJI KINERJA MESIN TETAS TIPE RAK MENGGUNAKAN XM-18 SEBAGAI PENGENDALI SUHU DAN KELEMBABAN
Technological development make it easier for human to do their jobs, such as hatching machine. Hatching machine is a machine used to incubate eggs without having to be incubate by the parent and make it easier for poultry entrepreneurs. Temperature and relative humidity are the most important variables in the egg hatching process which will greatly affect the success of the egg hatching process. Thermostat Controller XM-18 is a device used to regulate temperature and humidity. This study aimed to test the performance of a rack-type egg incubator using the XM-18 incubator controller for temperature and humidity control. The research method used is the experimental method with descriptive data analysis by observing temperature, relative humidity, fertility, hatchability, incubator power, incubator energy efficiency, and heat loss transfer rate. The highest average temperature of the environment was in the 8th observation, namely 33 oC and the lowest was at the 13th observation, namely 26.03 oC, while the lowest average temperature of the hatching machine in the second observation was 37.01 oC and the highest was 38.14 oC in the 20th observation. The highest average humidity of the environment was 86.38% and the lowest was 54.88%, while the average humidity of the hatching machine was 66.88% and the lowest was 57%. The ambient temperature and relative humidity do not affect the hatching temperature in the hatching machine. Egg fertility is 76.67% with hatchability of 78.26%. The energy efficiency of the incubator is 40.73% with a heat transfer rate of 8,79 J/s so that the energy used by the incubator is 64,4 J/s from 73,39 J/s.
