KINERJA JENIS DAN KONSENTRASI BIOCHAR TERHADAP PENINGKATAN SIFAT FISIK DAN KIMIA TANAH
This study aims to determine the performance of the types and concentrations of biochar on improving the physical and chemical properties of soil and spinach production. The biomass wastes used for making biochar in this study were consisted of rice husks, corn cobs, and coconut shells. The research method used in this research was factorial completely randomized design (RAL). Two treatment factors used in this study were the type of biochar (factor A) which consisted of rice husks, corn cobs, and coconut shells as well as the concentration of biochar (factor B) with magnitude of 6 g.kg-1 of soil, 12 g.kg-1 of soil, and 18 g.kg-1 of soil. The results showed that the types of biochar rice husk, corn cobs and coconut shell with a concentration of 6 g.kg-1 of soil, 12 g.kg-1 of soil, and 18 g.kg-1 of soil had significant effect on the physical and chemical properties of soil and production of spinach. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the interaction of A1B2 (rice husk: 12 g.kg-1 soil) had significant effect on spinach crop production, while A2B2 interaction (corn cobs: 12 g.kg-1 soil) had significant effect on the physical and chemical properties of the soil. Keywords: biochar, biochar type, biochar concentration, spinach production yield.
