ANALISA PENGELASAN BESI COR KELABU ASTM A48 CLASS 40 MENGGUNAKAN SMAW
This research will use gray cast iron as a welding specimen using SMAW. Before being welded, the specimen was made of a single V seam. The electrode used was ENi-Cl. Cast iron is a mixture of iron and carbon. The carbon content is between 2.0-6.67%. The Dye Penetrant test showed that there were several defects in the welding results, namely porosity, spatter, and crack. The macro structure test results were carried out to be able to see the main metal area, HAZ, and weld metal visually. Prior to observation, the specimen was first etched using 3 mL of Nital (HN03) chemical liquid and 97 mL of alcohol. The results of microstructure testing in the parent metal and HAZ areas showed changes in the microstructure as indicated by the enlargement of the structure in the parent metal and HAZ. This has led to an increase in the level of violence in the HAZ area. In the graphic image, the hardness of the welding specimen shows the hardness curve of the points on the three rows of test points that have been carried out both in the parent metal, HAZ, and weld metal. The test points are divided into 3 lines with a distance of 2.5 D each.In the graph above the highest hardness value is located in the HAZ area with the hardness value in row 2 point 5, namely 56.5 HRC and the weld metal area with the hardness value in row 2 point 10 namely 54 HRC. Below is the hardness value in the welding specimen.
