PENGARUH KALIUM TERHADAP INFEKSI Cercospora capsici PADA TANAMAN CABAI RAWIT
Potassium is a macro nutrient that is needed by plants for growth and development as well as defense against plant diseases. This research will study the effect of various dosages of potassium fertilizer on pepper leaf spot disease caused by Cercospora capsici. This research was arranged in an experiment designed with a randomized block design (RBD), consisted of four levels of potassium fertilizer dosages 0 g/polybag, 2 g/polybag, 4 g/polybag, 6 g/polybag, each treatment was repeated 5 times, resulted in the need of 20 experimental plants. Each experimental unit consisted of 3 pepper plants, so this research required 60 pepper plants. The parameters observed were incubation period, disease incidence, and disease intensity. The results showed that the first symptoms of C. capsici infection appeared 4 days after inoculation but the average incubation period was 7 days after inoculation. The intensity of C. capsici leaf spot on leaves increased from the beginning to the end of observations. The number and weight of fruit differed significantly with treatment of 2 g/polybag resulted in highest number and weight of yield. Keywords: leaf spot, disease intensity, inoculation
