KARAKTERISTIK MEMBRAN POLYVINYLIDENE FLUORIDE (PVDF) DENGAN PENAMBAHAN TITANIUM DIOXIDE (TiO2) TERHADAP PENGUJIAN TARIK, STRUKTUR MIKRO DAN KINERJA PENGOLAHAN AIR
In this research, Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) with the addition of the additive Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) was prepared with 3 different concentrations, 17.5wt%, 20wt%, and 22.5wt%. The formation of the PVDF @ TiO2 membrane aims to analyze the effect of adding TiO2 to the PVDF membrane mixture on mechanical properties, membrane morphology, and water treatment performance. The tensile test on the PVDF @ TiO2 membrane showed an optimal tensile strength value of up to 0.6403 MPa at a concentration of 22.5wt% compared to other concentrations, 0.460 MPa for 20wt% and 0.36 MPa and 17.5wt%. PVDF @ TiO2 membranes were characterized using SEM, the pore size became denser and the agglomeration phenomenon decreased with increasing PVDF concentration. This is directly proportional to the flux produced by the mixed membrane PVDF @ TiO2, The flux value was good at the concentration of PVDF 22.5wt% 9.95 L/m2h greater than other concentrations. The manufacture of Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) membranes with the addition of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) is one way to produce a membrane with even pores, reducing agglomeration and increasing membrane strength.
