FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI MORTALITAS PASIEN ACUTE RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME
Background: Acute respiratory distress sydrome (ARDS) is a special form of respiratory failure characterized by obvious hypoxemia and cannot be treated with conventional treatments. Although this condition was originally referred to as "respiratory distress syndrome", the term "acute" is now preferred because it is not limited to adults (Prince & Wilson, 2006). Purpose: This systematic review aims to find a picture of the problem factors affecting the mortality of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Methods: Qualitative research with a systematic review approach using content analysis with a search method using an electronic data base consisting of, PubMed, Google Scholar. Research journals that focus on issues affecting the mortality of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) which can be accessed in full text by the year 2010-2020. Results: Research obtained from 10 journals related to the issue of factors affecting the mortality of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) has been conducted in several countries with different methods. The results of a systematic review illustrate that factors affecting mortality in ARDS patients can be influenced by sharing factors, ventilation use, age, multi-organ failure. however, several research journals show that the factor that most influences the mortality of ARDS patients is sepsis. Conclusion: the factors that most influence the mortality of Acute Respiratory Distress Sydrome (ARDS) patients are sepsis. It is expected that nursing services in taking care of ARDS patients to conduct an early assessment related to the signs and symptoms of sepsi so that sepsis does not occur in ARDS patients if the signs and symptoms are detected early, in carrying out nursing actions to patients, nurses must maintain hygiene especially hand so as not to cause nosocomial infections in patients who will end up in sepsis, it can be done to reduce the incidence of mortality in ARDS patients. Keywords: Acute Respiratory Distress Sydrome (ARDS), Sepsis, Treatment.
