The purposes of this research are (]) to measure the performance of service installations at RSVP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang of through value for money measurement and (2) to know the role of value for money measurement in improving performance in the hospital . • The result of this research indicate that (]) during year 2006, there are three service installations which their performances are economic, efficient, and effective (3'E) whereas· the others not yet reached 3'E. Uneconomical due to the installations disability in economizing specified cost budget. Inefficient due to cost realization of installations larger compared to revenue realization. Ineffective due to the installation disability in attaining target which has been specified (2) Value for money measurement has the role in assisting the management of the hospital to improve performance in the next year. To improve the service installations performance, the management of the hospital must evaluate and review budgeting and service activities with minimization uneconomical, inefficient, and ineffective in the hospital performance and follow up measuring the effectiveness of corrections. The management of the hospital can make successful report which contents variants analysis and the cause of the variant, so this action can improve the hospital performance in yielding the better public service at the next years.
