PENGARUH PERIODE PEMOTONGAN BATANG TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI BIOMAS PURUN (Lepironia articulata Retz. Domin) DI LAHAN GAMBUT TERDEGRADASI
Restoration options on peatland can be done by planting biomass on peatlands. Massive peatland degradation has resulted in an abundance of purun. Purun biomass has the potential to be used for bioenergy production. This research was conducted to know the growth and comparison of purun biomass production with different time periods. This research was conducted from June 2019 to March 2020. in Perigi Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. This research was conducted using a randomized block design with treatment P1 = cutting every month, P2 = cutting every 2 months, P3 = cutting every 3 months and P3 = being observed every 6 months with a period of time for 6 months in each treatment. The variables observed were stem height, stem diameter, number of stems, fresh biomass and dry biomass. The results of the analysis of diversity showed that the cutting time period treatment had no significant effect on the variables of height in the first month, stem diameter at the 2nd and 3rd months, the number of stems in the first and second months. However, the variable of height has a very significant effect at month 2 to month 6, the variable in diameter at month 4 to month 6, variable in the number of stems at month 3 to month 6. The results of the analysis of diversity also showed that the effect of cutting time had a significant effect on the total number of stems, fresh weight of biomass and dry weight of biomass during a period of 6 months. The best treatment is found in the treatment period of cutting every 3 months.
