PERTUMBUHAN POPULASI MIKROALGA NANNOCHLOROPSIS OCULATA DALAM MEDIUM BG-11 CAIR DENGAN PENAMBAHAN CO2 PADA FOTOBIOREAKTOR SEDERHANA DAN SUMBANGANNYA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI SMA
This research aims to give information about the effect of adding CO2 to the abundance, growth, and biomass produced from the cultured of Nannochloropsis oculata in BG-11 liquid medium in simple photobioreactors. The research method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of three treatments and ten repetitions. The treatments consisted of P1 (aeration), P2 (addition of CO2), and P3 (aeration and addition of CO2). This research uses an alternative CO2 source, which is the reaction between citric acid and sodium bicarbonate. Data were analyzed by Anova and LSD test. The results showed that the combination of aeration and CO2 (P3) treatment had a very significant effect to increase the growth of Nannochloropsis oculata. P3 produces the highest abundance of microalgae at the peak of abundance, which is 102,943,000 cells/ml on the 10th day. Nannochloropsis oculata experienced growth with the highest number of cells at the peak of the exponential phase, which was 102,338,000 cells/ml. In addition, the aeration treatment and the addition of CO2 produced the highest dry weight biomass, which was 4,89 g/l.
