Neglect is a failure committed by caregivers to the elderly to provide good service or prepare everything that the elderly need to achieve optimal function and stay away from anything dangerous. This has an impact on changes in the elderly, namely psychosocial changes. Damage to psychosocial function in the elderly is a risk factor for neglect in the elderly. Neglect of the elderly will have a negative impact on the psychological and psychosocial needs of the elderly who are not met. This research was conducted to determine the relationship between neglect and the fulfillment of psychosocial needs in the elderly. The design used in this research is descriptive correlational and cross sectional approach. The research sample was 30 people with total sampling technique. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire and the test used was chi square. The results of this study found that most of the elderly experienced neglect, namely 23 people (76.7%) and some of the elderly were not good at fulfilling their psychosocial needs as many as 8 people (26.7%). The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between neglect and the fulfillment of psychosocial needs in the elderly (p value = 0.002). From the research results, it is hoped that care givers will continue to facilitate all the needs of the elderly including psychosocial needs by utilizing all the potential possessed by the caregivers, both physically, psychologically and financially in order to reduce the risk of neglect in the elderly.
