Injection immunizations can cause pain or discomfort in the baby which can cause short-term or long-term effects. Pain in infants that is not treated will also have trauma in the future and will affect the development of the baby's trust.This research aims to determine the effect of the Harvey 5S method on pain responses in infants during immunization by injection. This type of research is quasy-experimental research with a pre-post-test with control group research design. The sampling technique in this study is the purposive sampling method with a sample of 19 respondents per group in infants aged 0-4 months who received intramuscular immunization conducted in March-April 2020. The intervention group was given Harvey 5S method and the control group was given room action. The measurement of pain response using a pulse oximeteris to measure heart rate as a physiological pain response in infants. Pain responses in the intervention group and the control group were analyzed using the Paired Samples T Test and the differences in pain responses in the intervention group and the control group were analyzed using the Independent Sample T Test. The results of this research shows that there is an effect of the Harvey 5S method on pain responses in infants during immunization with p value = 0,000, which the average pain response in the intervention group is lower than in the control group. Harvey 5S method can be applied in pain management in infants during immunization by involving the baby's mother.
